Payments are due by the 20th of each month by 5:00 p.m. If the 20th falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline will move to the next business day.
Any tampering or unauthorized access to a meter is strictly prohibited. A Meter Tampering Fee will be charged if a meter is accessed or damaged by anyone other than City personnel. Tampering may result in Class A–C misdemeanor charges and additional charges for cut or damaged locks. Damaged meter, box, or curb stop. By having utilities with the City of Magnolia, you grant the City of Magnolia and its authorized personnel the right to enter the service property as needed for the purpose of inspection, maintenance, repair, or replacement of water meters, meter boxes, or utility service lines.
A 5% late fee will be applied to any unpaid balances not received by the deadline.
On the last business day of the month, a $45 disconnection fee will be applied to all unpaid accounts and water will be turned off, regardless of whether the water is physically turned off if you have made the Cutoff list the fee will be charged to your account.
Customers are responsible for notifying the city of any changes to their phone number, email, or mailing address. If a customer has not received a bill by the 6th day of the month, it is the customer’s responsibility to contact the City of Magnolia in person
or by phone to obtain the amount due and confirm contact information is correct. Utility bills are based on the amount of water used.
Every service address has a dedicated water meter separating the city-owned line from the customer’s private system. Once water passes through the meter, it is considered purchased by the customer. Meters collect data via electronic signals sent to city software
for accurate billing. Properties with irrigation systems should regularly check and adjust system settings to avoid unexpected
high usage and billing
Utility bills are generated and emailed during the first week of each month.
